The hope of students eager to resume academic activities that has been halted by the ongoing ASUU strike is left hanging again, as another meeting between the Federal Government and the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been cancelled by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

This is the second time in two weeks that the meeting between the two parties would be hindered as the one earlier slated for Wednesday, December 9 was also cancelled.

Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Charles Akpan made the announcement but did not give reasons for the postponement.

Meanwhile, ASUU President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi stated that the union’s leadership did not agree to any meeting with the government, stressing that they are still consulting with its organs on the latest offer by the government.
